Man stabbed during vehicle theft on South Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A person was stabbed during a vehicle theft on South Avenue Saturday afternoon.

Police say they went to South Avenue near Court Street around 1:30 p.m. to report a theft. When police arrived, they found a 23-year-old Ontario County man with a minor cut to his lower body.

Police say the victim said a group of teenagers attacked and stabbed him before stealing his vehicle and fleeing the scene.

The Ontario County man was transported to Strong Hospital where he was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries.

Police searched the scene for the stolen vehicle, but it has not yet been found.

The circumstances leading to the attack are still unknown. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
