Man stabbed during fight involving about 100 people on Carson Beach in South Boston

A man was stabbed during a fight involving about 100 people on Carson Beach in South Boston Friday evening, police said.

Massachusetts State Police troopers responded to the beach around 8:50 p.m. Friday to report a large fight involving about 100 people, state police said in a statement.

A police officer at the scene discovered a man who appeared to have been stabbed. He was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the state police statement.

The Boston Police Department assisted with crowd control, the release said.

The stabbing remains under investigation by state police.
