Man stabbed by brother-in-law during backyard argument

SAN ANTONIO – A man is recovering in stable condition after being stabbed by his brother-in-law on the city's West Side.

The stabbing happened around 2:16 a.m. Saturday near the 2800 block of Observation Dr.

According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), when they arrived on scene, the 54-year-old victim had already been transported to a nearby emergency clinic by a family member. The victim was then transferred to hospital for further treatment.

According to the victim's statement, he was drinking with the suspect, identified as his brother-in-law, in the yard when an argument broke out. The suspect, aged 45, allegedly attacked the victim with a knife, stabbing him several times before fleeing on foot. The victim was able to return home and seek help.

Officers searched for the suspect but were unable to locate him at that time.

The case is still ongoing.
