Man sentenced to 10 years in prison for fatal stabbing

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter has been sentenced after he was fatally stabbed at a multi-unit home.

Kevin Dukes, Jr. was sentenced to 10 years in prison with five years of post-release supervision following the death of 38-year-old Constance Henry.

In July 2023, Henry was found with multiple stab wounds. Investigators said Henry was trying to break up a fight between Dukes and a woman, who had an order of protection against Dukes. During the altercation, Henry was stabbed by Dukes.

Dukes was initially charged with second-degree murder and first-degree criminal contempt. He nevertheless pleaded guilty to manslaughter. He also had a warrant for Gates' arrest for harassment and a warrant for his arrest from Wisconsin for resisting and obstructing an officer.
