MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A 35-year-old Mobile man faces several charges, including domestic violence, after police say he tried to set a house fire with people inside. interior and intentionally crashing his vehicle into another vehicle on Tuesday.

Mobile Police responded to the 800 block of North Carolina Street just before 11:30 p.m. in reference to a domestic incident.

According to the Mobile Police Department, the suspect, later identified as Brandon Harris Sr., forced his way into the home and attempted to set the kitchen on fire while his adult daughter and a minor daughter were still there. inside.

The investigation revealed that the homeowner, who is also the children's mother, was not present at the time, police said. MPD said an argument between the homeowner and Harris took place earlier in the night.

Harris allegedly left the residence, found the homeowner nearby and intentionally rammed her vehicle. He was arrested a short time later, police said.

Harris is charged with third-degree domestic violence/criminal mischief, first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree burglary.

He has a bond hearing scheduled for Friday, according to jail records.
