Man points gun at child at Fort Myers grocery store

Deputies responded to a grocery store after a man was accused of pointing a gun at a child last Sunday. The Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to La Mexicana on Ortiz Avenue regarding an armed man who had pointed a gun at a juvenile. The victim was unharmed and was left with his mother after the incident, fearing for his safety. Canuto Daniel Alvarado, 33, allegedly returned to his car before officers arrived to hide the gun before returning to the store. LCSO confronted Alvarado and noticed he was intoxicated with a firearm magazine. Alvarado stood next to a Modelo box filled with suspected drugs. The sheriff's office says the box contained 11.7 grams of cocaine, 10.3 grams of heroin and a small bag of prescription pills. He was arrested and charged with three counts of drug possession, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. felony and disorderly intoxication.
