Man on 'mission' slashes man's face with knife at Park City Diner (police) [update] | Local News

A Manheim Township man walked into the Park City Diner, approached a man behind the counter and struck him in the face with a knife Monday night, police say.

Police charged Ahmed Jamel Fayed, 24, with aggravated assault and possession of an instrument of crime after officers say he cut the man, leaving a gash that stretched more than 12 cm from his left ear to his nose. The man needed stitches for the cut.

After cutting the man, Fayed called emergency services and told them, “The mission was over,” according to charging documents. Fayed later told Manheim Township police that he “marked” the man and went to the restaurant to attack him.

Emergency crews responded to the Park City Diner in the 800 block of Plaza Boulevard just after 6 p.m.

Beyond traffic tickets, Fayed has no public criminal record. He is being held in the Lancaster County Jail on $250,000 bail.

Fayed did not have an attorney listed on his docket as of Tuesday afternoon. His next hearing is scheduled for June 13.
