Man nearly crashes into sheriff's vehicle during chase | Lebanon

When the sergeant attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Ellis at the Shell gas station on Sparta Pike, Ellis allegedly did not stop and continued through the parking lot.

The sergeant drove around Ellis to cut him off and got out of his vehicle. After ordering Ellis to turn off the truck, the sergeant approached to turn off the vehicle.

“Wilson County deputies then arrived on scene and completely blocked Ellis,” Lebanon police said on social media. “Sergeant. Scott managed to park the vehicle, but not before Ellis tried to drive away, nearly crashing into a WCSO police car.

Authorities say a search of the vehicle revealed a bag of methamphetamine, a scale and cash.

In addition to his outstanding warrants, Ellis was arrested for felony fraud, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of methamphetamine.

“We are grateful that no one was injured and we appreciate the assistance of Wilson County Sheriff's deputies during this stop,” the department said on social media.
