Man missing on Stairway To Heaven hiking trail took chilling photo that could explain his disappearance

A man who didn't hike the Stairway to Heaven took a photo that could hold the key to his disappearance.

On February 27, 2015, a teenager named Daylenn Pua climbed the steps of a hiking trail in Hawaii – known as Haiku Stairs or “Stairway to Heaven” – and since that day, the 17-year-old has not was never seen again.

Daylenn was in Hawaii visiting his grandmother when he decided to take the stairs.

The steps were built during World War II to provide access to U.S. Navy communications facilities on the island of Oahu. This was built following concerns over Hawaii after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which brought the United States into the war.

The trail includes “3,922 steps across the Ko'olau Range” and not only that, but it's actually “illegal”: trespassers risk being fined $700 if they are surprised on the trail, says Oahu Hike.

He explains: “The stairs must be accessible after entering behind the Haiku district. »

And what's more, the stairs are “altered and sometimes unreliable”, the hike is a delicate “continuous and steep path”.

So why do people try to climb stairs? Well, the site says it leads to a place that has “easily the best views on Oahu.”

Although his grandmother warned him against the trip, Daylenn went anyway, making sure to stay in communication with his grandmother, sending her photos of himself along the way.

However, he never returned home.

A huge search team was launched to find him, including US Navy drones and among the evidence were photos he sent to his family during the hike.

This is where things get scary.

Indeed, when you zoom in on the photos, you can clearly see the silhouette of someone – or something – crouching in the undergrowth.

It is not known who this person was or why they were there.

It could be something harmless, like a fellow hiker relieving himself in the bushes, but it could also indicate something much more sinister.

There is no doubt either, there is very clearly a crouching figure in the photos.

Pua has been missing for nine years and what happened to him remains a mystery.

Since he was never found, there is no way of knowing if he is alive or dead, and if he is dead, what is the cause of his death.

But it was hard not to be frightened at the sight of the mysterious figure following him up the stairs on a hike from which he would never return.

Could this have something to do with his disappearance?
