Man killed in violent crash on Highway 405 identified

County authorities on Saturday identified a man who was killed along with a woman in a fiery two-vehicle crash on the Santa Monica (405) Freeway near Culver City.

Clifton Gore, Jr. 74, was identified as the man who died in the crash, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the northbound highway and National Boulevard at 2:13 a.m. Thursday for reports that a Toyota Prius and a commercial truck had collided, causing the vehicle to catch fire. Prius and the truck, CHP Officer Erik Larsen told City News. Service.
