Man killed in Northeast DC shooting identified

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has released the name of the man killed in a shooting in Northeast DC on Saturday afternoon.

Police said around 1:30 p.m. they went to the 1800 block of Providence Street for a report of a shooting.

When police arrived, they found a man who had been shot inside a house. He died at the scene.

The man was identified as Michael Sturgent Morris, 45, of Northeast D.C.
