Man killed in Newhall shooting identified

A man who was shot and killed in Newhall on Monday has been identified.

Fernando Bernabe, 31, was the man shot and killed in a Filming at Newhallaccording to the Los Angeles County Coroner's website.

THE filming was reported to deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station just before 7:40 p.m. Monday on Lyons Avenue, just west of Newhall Avenue, according to Sgt. Gillespie with the SCV Sheriff's Station at the time of the incident.

Bernabe was pronounced deceased at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics.

The case is currently being investigated by detectives from the LASD Homicide Bureau.
