Man killed in drive-by shooting Saturday afternoon

DURHAM, North Carolina — A man is dead after a shooting Saturday evening in Durham.

According to the Durham Police Department, the shooting happened in the 3600 block of Keystone Place. Officers found a man with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle in the parking lot.

Police said the victim was at the intersection of Dearborn Drive and Old Oxford Road in a white sedan when another car pulled up alongside her and fired several shots at the vehicle on the passenger side. The suspect vehicle drove away from the scene, while the driver of the white sedan drove to Keystone Place and fled the car.

Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, where he later died.

The intersection of Dearborn Drive and Old Oxford Road is closed while police investigate.

Police are asking drivers to find an alternate route while they investigate, and for anyone with information to contact. Police say the shooting was an isolated incident.
