Man injured in shooting at Taco Bell Cantina in downtown Silver Spring, police say

County police are searching for suspects in a shooting Sunday evening that left a man injured at the Taco Bell Cantina in downtown Silver Spring, according to police radio transmissions.

Police received a report of a shooting shortly after 6 p.m. at the restaurant at 8662 Colesville Road, according to transmissions. Responding officers found a bullet casing in the restaurant, according to reports.

County police spokeswoman Shiera Goff confirmed in an email Sunday evening that officers were searching for suspects. “No one is in custody at this time,” she wrote at 9:15 p.m.

Shortly after the shooting was reported, a man who had been shot in the back of the head arrived at the emergency room at Holy Cross Hospital, at 1500 Forest Glen Road in Silver Spring, according to transmissions. The man said he was shot at the Colesville Road restaurant, according to reports.

According to Goff's email, “a person arrived at an area hospital in a private vehicle with a gunshot wound. The adult male suffered a non-life-threatening injury.
