Man in custody after stabbing 4 girls in random attack at Massachusetts movie theater: police

BRAINTREE, Mass. (WJAR) — Police say the man hospitalized and arrested after crash is the suspect in a stabbing at a Boston-area movie theater Saturday night, as well as a stabbing at a Cape Cod fast-food restaurant about an hour later.

According to Massachusetts State Police, the car that crashed on the Cape matched the description of the one that fled the theater site. Four girls, ages 9 to 17, were stabbed at the AMC Braintree 10 movie theater. All victims are expected to recover.

Police said about an hour after the suspect fled from Braintree, two people were stabbed at a McDonald's in Plymouth: a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man. This attack led to the pursuit which ended in an accident in Sandwich.

MSP said the attacks appear to have been random.

The suspect has not yet been identified. He was transported to a local hospital and was arrested.
