Man identified after body found on Wrightwood Avenue in Durham, police say

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — A man has been identified after a body was found on Wrightwood Avenue in Durham on Sunday.

Around 12:36 a.m. Sunday, officers said they responded to an unknown EMS problem in the 2500 block of Wrightwood Avenue. They said a driver passing by called 911 to report a person lying on the side of the road.

When officers arrived, they found an unconscious man who was later pronounced deceased at the scene. Shortly after, medical examiners arrived on scene and determined that the man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

The man was identified Friday as Jamie Rolando Ramos, 47, of Durham.

Police said they are still determining the circumstances surrounding this incident.
