Birmingham police responded to a report of a person shot near Rickwood Field early Wednesday morning. Officials said around 12:23 a.m. they received a call about a person shot in the 1400 block of Third Avenue West.>> THE LATEST: WVTM 13 Headlines & Weather Officers found Ta'Darrius Omar Debodre Jones, 30, lying face down in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham firefighters pronounced the man dead at the scene. Investigators said there were several people in the area when the victim was shot. No one is in custody. BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —

Birmingham police responded to a report of a person shot near Rickwood Field early Wednesday morning.

Officials said that around 12:23 a.m. they received a call about a person shot in the 1400 block of Third Avenue West.

Officers found Ta'Darrius Omar Debodre Jones, 30, lying face down in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.

Birmingham firefighters pronounced the man dead at the scene.
