Man found dead in Mississippi River identified

Investigation update regarding a deceased person found in the Mississippi River on Monday, August 21, 2023:

The Tunica County Sheriff's Office received autopsy results positively identifying the individual in reference to the decedent recovered from the Mississippi River on August 21, 2023.

This individual has been identified as Mario Stewart, 50, of Memphis, Tennessee. The Tunica County Sheriff's Office extends its condolences to the family.
