Man fatally stabbed while walking in Englewood

CHICAGO — An investigation is underway after a man was fatally stabbed while walking on the city's South Side early Saturday morning.

Chicago police said the incident happened just before 5 a.m. in the 6300 block of South Stewart Avenue in Englewood.


Police say the victim, an adult male whose age has not been released, was walking in the area with two other people when three other people approached in a car. Authorities say one of the people inside the car then stabbed the man multiple times.

The three people then got back into the car and fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police say the two people who accompanied the victim during the attack were not injured.

Currently, it is unclear what exactly led to the stabbing and authorities say no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

Authorities have not yet identified the slain victim.
