Man fatally stabbed in Long Beach encampment; suspect at large

Homicide detectives were investigating the fatal stabbing of a man at a Long Beach encampment on Sunday.

Officers responded to the area of ​​Los Angeles River and Long Beach Boulevard before 9 a.m. Sunday following a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, police located the victim who had been stabbed and died at the scene.

The suspect fled and has not yet been apprehended. The preliminary investigation reveals that the victim and the suspect had a verbal altercation which resulted in a stabbing.
