A 19-year-old man who was fatally shot Wednesday evening in Mission Dolores Park in San Francisco has been identified as Luis Arguello-Inglis, a freshman communications major at San Jose State University.

The shooting was reported around 10 p.m. When officers arrived, they found Inglis lying on the ground near the southern boundary of the park.

Emergency services and paramedics intervened, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A GoFundMe page in memory of the teen had collected more than 400 donations and raised more than $33,000 as of Sunday afternoon.

“Luis was a bright light in our lives, filled with love, laughter and unlimited potential,” the page reads. “His loss has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.”

Inglis played center fielder for the San Francisco Seals football team, the team said in an Instagram post.

“He is remembered as a quiet man who demonstrated wisdom beyond his years,” the post said. “Our thoughts are with his family, friends and community.”
