Zachary Dukette faces first-degree murder charge

A man is in custody after a fatal shooting Saturday in Santa Fe. A Santa Fe police spokesperson said officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 900 block of Morning Drive. Officers found the victim, identified as James Dukette, had suffered at least one gunshot wound. Dukette was transported to a local hospital, but did not survive his injuries. Police arrested Zachary Dukette at the scene. He was charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. The matter remains under investigation.
