Man denies murder after fatal stabbing

A man has pleaded not guilty to the murder of a 26-year-old man who was stabbed to death at a Barnsley property.

Sipho Pfukani, 28, denies murdering Lazarus Makono, who died at the scene on Cooperative Street on February 21.

At Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, Mr Pfukani, of Aldham House Lane, Wombwell, was told he would stand trial in October.

A second man, Terrance Mlotshwa, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting an offender and fraud by false representation.

Mlotshwa, 28, of Ripley Avenue, Derby, who was previously charged with Mr Makono's murder, was remanded in custody.
