Man dead after nighttime shooting in Pinch

UPDATE – 01:20 a.m.:

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office confirms a man is dead following a shooting Friday evening in Pinch.

According to deputies, they received a call around 11:38 p.m. at the TC Energy job site along Stella Drive.

They say a suspect had pulled up behind some oil company trucks stopped along Upper Pinch Road – the suspect then got out of his truck and got into an altercation with people at the scene – including a security guard on the TC Energy site.

Deputies say the situation escalated and the suspect pulled out a gun, but was shot by the security guard.
