Man convicted of 2020 Nevada County stabbing

Authorities said Michael Stine was convicted Oct. 5 of first-degree murder. On June 10, he was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison. This follows a multi-week trial in fall 2023.

The prosecutor's office said Stine was arrested after Shelby Comeaux II was found fatally injured by stab wounds in October 2020.

Among the evidence included during the trial was eyewitness testimony and cellphone audio footage that captured parts of what happened.
