Man charged with trafficking 2 people for prostitution in Oakland County

MADISON HEIGHTS, Michigan. – A man is accused of trafficking at least two people for prostitution in Oakland County.

Kevin Johnson, 31, of Detroit, is accused of transporting at least two people for prostitution and accepting money for sex trafficking.

He sexually assaulted one of the survivors at least twice and also physically assaulted her, authorities said.

He was accused of:

  • Torture – a crime punishable by a maximum sentence of life in prison.

  • Two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct – a felony carrying a maximum sentence of life in prison.

  • Two counts of prostitution, transporting a person – a 20-year felony.

  • Two counts of prostitution, accepting income – a 20-year felony.

  • Two counts of human trafficking enterprise causing injury – a 15-year felony.

  • Assault and battery – a 93-day misdemeanor.

He was arraigned Friday, June 7, 2024, in the 43rd District Court in Madison Heights. Bail was set at $750,000, cash/surety.

Johnson is being held at the Oakland County Jail.
