Man charged with murder after stabbing in Mocksville

MOCKSVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — A man died after being stabbed Friday evening, the Davie County Sheriff's Office said.

At 11:56 p.m., deputies responded to a stabbing call in the 200 block of Gwyn Street and found Mark Randall Dukes, 62, stabbed multiple times. He succumbed to his injuries.

According to a press release from the sheriff's office, the suspect, Danny Earl Carter, 32, left the resident to feed and initially was no longer in the immediate area.

Carter and Dukes knew each other and authorities believe they were involved in a disturbance at the time of the stabbing.

Carter was arrested in Mocksville around 9 a.m. Saturday.
