Man charged with murder after pushing victim off dock in Hillsborough County

A man is accused of killing another man after pushing him off a Hillsborough County dock, deputies say.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on Saturday, May 25. Police initially responded to the scene to investigate a possible shooting in Bahia Beach.

Upon arrival, however, officers were unable to identify any signs of a gunshot victim; a witness said he saw someone fall into the water following an altercation.

Deputies say the dive team was called, leading to the discovery of a body found in the water.

The investigation revealed that there was an altercation between suspect Kamal Padlowski, 50, and another man on a boat. During the altercation, the victim left the boat, but Padlowski followed the victim onto the dock and pushed her, according to deputies.

The push caused the victim to hit his head on the dock.

“This tragic incident highlights the serious consequences that can result from acts of violence, and our hearts go out to the victim’s family during this incredibly difficult time,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is committed to ensuring justice is served, and we will continue to thoroughly investigate this matter.”

Padlowski faces charges of second-degree murder.
