Man charged with multiple gun violations and methamphetamine trafficking | Local News






JOHN Palacios Deleon Guerrero, 48, was charged with multiple firearms violations and trafficking methamphetamine.

The Attorney General's Office charged him with three counts of storing firearms, one count of removing the serial number of a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm without a firearm owner's identification card, one count of trafficking in a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Deleon Guerrero appeared before Associate Superior Court Judge Lilian Tenorio for a preliminary hearing on June 12. He was represented by public defender Anthony Aguon while lead prosecutor Chester Hinds appeared for the government.

Judge Tenorio continued the hearing today, Tuesday, June 18 at 9 a.m. She also set an arraignment for July 1 at 9:30 a.m.

The complaint

According to the complaint against Deleon Guerrero, the Department of Public Safety and Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant at his residence on May 7, 2024, at approximately 10:05 a.m.

One of the officers noticed that Deleon Guerrero was in his vehicle in front of his residence. He was searched after a search warrant was presented to him. When asked if he had anything illegal in the car, Deleon Guerrero said he had “something” in a black purse.

Inside his residence, officers found a cardboard box containing three firearms: a brown .22 caliber Marlin 882 with the serial number. 11536045, a black .22 caliber Winchester 600 with the serial number scratched, and a black Walther Arms 9mm PPS with the serial number. BA7122.

In Deleon Guerrero's bedroom, police found two rifles and a handgun.

In her vehicle, officers discovered several Ziploc bags inside a black purse. The Ziploc bags contained a crystalline substance that was field tested and returned positive results for methamphetamine.

According to the complaint, 8.2 gross grams of methamphetamine were taken from Deleon Guerrero's vehicle.

In a freely given statement to investigators, Deleon Guerrero admitted that the drugs found inside his vehicle belonged to him and that he had obtained them from a “Chinese friend named 'Brother'.” » He said “Brother” typically provided him with about 10 to 12 grams of methamphetamine each day to sell.

As for the guns found in his room, Deleon Guerrero said they belonged to another friend, “Bazik.”

$910 in cash was also found in his vehicle, the complaint states.

The DETF noted that Deleon Guerrero does not hold a registered firearms license.
