Man charged with bomb threats against Williamsport nursing home

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Maryland (DC News Now) — A Hagerstown man has been charged after allegedly making multiple bomb threats against a nursing home in Williamsport.

Authorities said John Calvin Walls, 60, was arrested Wednesday for calling Williamsport Retirement Village on Monday, threatening to “blow up the quiet home offering assisted living, rehabilitation, long-term care and nursing home.” relief”.

An employee discovered the “threatening voicemail,” prompting investigators to respond to the reported bomb threat. This employee recognized the caller's voice. The voicemail also recorded the number that left the message, pointing to Walls.

Investigators learned that Walls left several voicemails saying the nursing home was going to “blow up.”

As a precaution, the nursing home was temporarily closed and an explosive detection dog responded, but found no explosive devices at the premises.
