Man charged with 2nd degree stabbing murder in Mississauga

A 25-year-old man now faces a second-degree murder charge in connection with the stabbing death of a woman in Mississauga earlier this week, Peel police said.

Officers were first called to a motel in the area of ​​Britannia Road E. and Whittle Road just before 9:30 a.m. Monday, police said in a news release.

Paramedics and police found a woman in her 50s who had been stabbed. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

On Tuesday, a 25-year-old Mississauga man was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He was held for a bail hearing.

Police say the accused is a relative of the victim and the matter is “not considered an incident of domestic violence.”
