Man charged in fatal Syracuse shooting; victim identified

Syracuse Police taped off a parking lot at the corner of South Salina Street and Dr. Martin Luther King West where a man was shot and later pronounced dead at Crouse Hospital on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

Syracuse, N.Y. — A man was arrested and charged Monday in the shooting death of a 31-year-old man in Syracuse.

Kenneth Lewis, 44, is charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and is being held at the Justice Center jail awaiting arraignment, police said in a news release.

Police said Lewis shot Lovell Days around 4:54 p.m. Saturday in the area of ​​118 Dr. Martin Luther King West.
