Man charged after stabbing on street

A man has been charged after another man was seriously injured following a stabbing on a busy street.

Police were called to the High Street in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, at around 6.20pm BST on Friday.

A 50-year-old man suffered a puncture wound to his back and a cut to his arm.

Aaron David Caley, 36, from Ryde, was charged with wounding with intent and possession of a knife in a public place.

He is due to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on Monday.
