Man arrested Wednesday for stabbing woman more than 30 times in northwest Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A man is behind bars after being accused of stabbing a woman more than 30 times in northwest Tallahassee Tuesday night, leaving her in critical condition, according to recent court records.

Terry Williams, 28, faces an attempted murder charge in connection with the incident that occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Dian Road, according to court records.

He was arrested the next day in the evening after police said dispatch received a call from an anonymous source saying Williams had been seen in the Westgate Ct area. He was then taken to the police department from Tallahassee by police officers for questioning, according to court records.

Williams is accused of stabbing the victim in the face, neck, torso, abdomen, arms and legs, according to court records, leaving her with “approximately 30 to 40 stab wounds and possibly more.” . Court records also indicate the victim was also stabbed in the left eye and it is unclear if she will regain her sight.

Police said Williams threatened the victim with a knife while they were with friends the night of the incident at the Dian Road apartment. The victim then left, according to police.

However, police said she returned to the apartment Tuesday evening to collect her belongings. That's when the incident happened.

Due to his injuries, court records indicate that at this time it is unknown if the victim will survive his injuries. The victim “will likely suffer serious and permanent injuries if she survives future surgeries,” according to court records.

The 28-year-old suspect denied any involvement in the incident after being taken into custody Wednesday and questioned, according to court documents.

Incident timeline

A little after 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, court records showed a call was made to the dispatch center reporting the victim had been stabbed at the Dian Road apartment.

The police arrived on scene and discovered that the victim was suffering from stab wounds all over his body. “She is in stable condition but her prognosis is undetermined,” court records state. After being taken to the hospital, court records allege the victim told officers that Williams had stabbed her.

A person who was in a bedroom of the Dian Road apartment at the time of the incident reported hearing “what sounded like two people fighting, but no voices” in the living room, according to court records. He then came out of the bedroom and observed the victim on the living room floor, but could not see that she was bleeding because the apartment did not have active utilities, according to court records.

That's when court records alleged the victim's boyfriend entered the property and noticed Williams walking down the stairs of the apartment and toward the road, carrying a knife with what appeared to have blood on it.

The victim's boyfriend immediately ran up the stairs to the apartment, according to court records, and observed the critically injured victim inside, leading him to call 911.

Early Wednesday morning, court records allege a 911 call was made indicating Williams had been seen trying to enter a home on Mission Road. Law enforcement then arrived and saw Williams walking away from the Mission Road home, according to court records.

An officer attempted to arrest Williams. However, Williams shouted “No. I know my rights! and fled.

Court records allege that later that evening, dispatch received a call from someone saying Williams was in the area of ​​Westgate Ct. Officers arrived on scene and arrested Williams.
