Man arrested on suspicion of murder after stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 23-year-old on Wednesday.

The victim was stabbed on Wrensfield Road in Stockton, County Durham, shortly before 6.40pm BST, police said.

Cleveland police arrested a 28-year-old man and he remains in custody.

Law enforcement said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbing.

Cleveland Police said officers will remain on scene and in the surrounding area for some time as the investigation continues.

He is calling for witnesses and any information.
