Man arrested on drug charges on I-95 in Sherman

SHERMAN — Following a traffic stop on I-95 Tuesday, a New Hampshire man was arrested and charged with drug trafficking offenses.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency's Aroostook County Task Force had received information about a vehicle traveling from Massachusetts to Aroostook County with illegal narcotics.

Officers identified the driver as Timothy Pinkham, 34, of Somersworth, New Hampshire, and found that his license had been suspended.

With the assistance of Maine State Police, officers located Pinkham's vehicle on I-95 North.

A state trooper initiated a traffic stop in Sherman, during which Pinkham attempted to dispose of suspected fentanyl.

A subsequent search of the vehicle by officers and the Trooper revealed more than 1,300 grams (2.8 pounds) of methamphetamine and more than 3.5 grams of fentanyl.

A locked container in the vehicle, later opened with a search warrant, contained an additional 441 grams of methamphetamine, totaling more than 3.8 pounds, with an estimated street value of more than $150,000.

Pinkham was charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs, two counts of Unlawfully Providing Schedule W Drugs, two counts of Unlawful Possession of Schedule W Drugs W and operating without a permit.

He was taken to the Aroostook County Jail, with bail set at $75,000 cash.

The Aroostook County Sheriff's Office also assisted in the arrest.
