Man arrested on drug charges after police chase in Maine

A 29-year-old man was arrested Saturday after fleeing police and throwing a paper bag containing drugs out the window of his vehicle in Brunswick.

Drug charges, evading police and suspended license

Hamet Badia of Lawrence, Massachusetts was arrested for Aggravated Drug Dealing, 2 counts of Unlawful Drug Dealing, Escape from an Office, and Activity After Suspension.

Man refused to stop and ran from police

Brunswick police attempted to stop Badia on Route 1 for a vehicle violation around 12:58 a.m. Badia refused to stop and sped away.

Suspect threw bag full of drugs out of car window

The suspect threw a paper bag out the window as he fled from police. Officers picked up the bag and found 258.2 grams of fentanyl, 11.9 grams of cocaine and 9.7 grams of methamphetamine.

Driver arrested after chase

Badia stopped on New Meadows Road after a police chase and was apprehended.

Taken to jail and set on bail

He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail with bail set at $15,000.
