Man arrested in connection with North Carolina bank robbery

The Henry County Sheriff's Office has made an arrest in connection with an armed robbery at a bank in Eden, North Carolina.

Bobby Dobbins, 53, was located and arrested in Collinsville, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. The release did not clearly state where Dobbins resides.

On Friday, an armed robbery occurred at the Truist Bank, 680 S. Van Buren Road in Eden.

Officers arrived on scene and learned that a man had entered the bank, brandished a handgun at the employee and demanded money.

The man fled in an unknown direction after robbing the bank of an undisclosed amount of money. No one was injured during the incident, a release from the Henry County Sheriff's Office said.

On Monday, investigators from the Henry and Patrick County Sheriff's Offices began assisting the Eden Police Department and developed Dobbins as a suspect.

Dobbins was located and arrested in Collinsville and a court warrant was issued for Dobbins based on the theft charge in Eden.

Dobbins was jailed without bail at the Henry County Adult Detention Center.
