Man arrested for stabbing mother to death at Howell home – NBC New York

A New Jersey man has been charged after stabbing his mother to death as she slept in bed in the home they share, prosecutors say.

Robert Parody was arrested and faces a charge of first-degree murder in connection with the death of his mother, Loretta Parody, 61, inside their Howell Township home on Porter Road, the police said. Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Parody, 25, stabbed his mother in the chest around 1am on Monday after entering her bedroom while she was sleeping, an inquest heard.

Officers arrived on scene and arrested Parody without incident, according to prosecutors. His mother was rushed to hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

Parody was being held at a Monmouth County Correctional Facility awaiting a detention hearing. Anyone with further information about this fatal attack is asked to contact police.
