Man arrested for first-degree murder in Riverview

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Charges have been filed in the February 2024 homicide of a Riverview man.

Brandyn Hargrove, 20, is charged with first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department's probable cause statement, the incident happened around 7 p.m. on the 200 block of Chambers Road in Riverview on Feb. 15.

Hargrove was the passenger in a vehicle that pulled into the parking lot of Go Go Mini Mart on Chambers Road, with the driver's mother also in the car.

Once the vehicle was parked in the parking lot, the driver's mother pointed to the vehicle of the victim, who had allegedly tried to assault her several days earlier. Hargrove allegedly responded by saying, “I'll take care of it.”

Hargrove allegedly left the store before opening fire and shooting the victim as the car moved forward.

The victim, James Teague, 34, was taken to an area hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The driver and his mother both identified Hargrove as the shooter.

Hargrove was arrested July 2 and is being held on $500,000 bail.
