Man arrested for armed robbery in Port Charlotte mall

A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with an armed robbery at a Port Charlotte strip mall along US-41. According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred in the Jackpot area near the intersection of W Tarpon Boulevard NW and US-41. Deputies say Harry Thompson, 40, had a gun and was wearing a mask and gloves when he approached a cashier. and demanded money. He then fled through the back of the video arcade. Officers were able to locate Thompson in the vehicle in which he left the scene. Thompson was taken to the Charlotte County Jail on charges of armed robbery. This is breaking news. A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with an armed robbery at a Port Charlotte strip mall along US-41.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred in the Jackpot area near the intersection of W Tarpon Boulevard NW and US-41.

Deputies say Harry Thompson, 40, had a gun and was wearing a mask and gloves when he approached a teller and demanded money. He then fled through the back of the arcade.

Officers were able to locate Thompson in the vehicle in which he left the scene.

Thompson was taken to the Charlotte County Jail on charges of armed robbery.
