Man arrested following suspected burglary at Topeka business

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A 46-year-old Topeka man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a burglary in north Topeka.

On June 4 at 2:20 a.m., Topeka police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of NW Lyman to investigate a burglar alarm. Police observed an individual inside the building committing a burglary, according to a news release from the Topeka Police Department (TPD).


A 27 News reporter saw a broken glass door at the House of the Rising Suds laundromat in the area of ​​the reported burglary.

Police said the suspect fled out the side door and was arrested a short distance from the business. The man was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on the following charges:

  • Burglary
  • Criminal damage to property, crime
  • Interference with a law enforcement officer; obstruction
  • Possession of opiates, opium, narcotics or certain stimulants
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
