Man arrested following fight with deputies – Examiner Online

Charles Morris, 48, of Millford Center, was arrested Tuesday, June 11, on several charges, including obstructing official business following an altercation with deputies from the County Sheriff's Office. Logan.

Law enforcement was dispatched shortly before 7 p.m. to a Moraine Ridge address in Mountain Top RV Park in Zanesfield following a report of a domestic dispute. Dispatch reported that a woman called 911 and was screaming and that an alleged domestic dispute could be heard in the background.

The connection was lost because of the call and when the dispatcher called back, the woman indicated everything was fine.

Officers responded to the scene and learned upon arrival that Morris had an outstanding arrest warrant from the Union County Sheriff's Office.

The original caller told deputies that an argument ensued about ending a relationship, but that the altercation was never physical and that she simply had questions related to property.

Morris was informed of the warrant and allegedly began arguing with deputies. He retreated to the rear of the residence and refused to come out and surrender to law enforcement. A fight eventually ensued as Morris remained in conflict with deputies.

A deputy had to draw his Taser at one point, and another pointed his service weapon at Morris due to his erratic behavior and the presence of two aggressive dogs inside the trailer.

Ultimately, Morris was forcibly arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail. He was charged with resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
