Man arrested at Roseville Galleria, accused of kidnapping woman

The woman was pulled into a black BMW and people nearby attempted to help her, but the vehicle left the scene.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — A man was arrested Sunday at the Westfield Galleria mall in Roseville and accused of kidnapping his girlfriend.

The Roseville Police Department said Tuesday that in the early hours of June 9, officers responded to reports of a woman screaming for help near Main Street near downtown Roseville.

The woman was pulled into a black BMW and people nearby tried to help her, but the vehicle drove off. An ID card was found in the area, which was later found to belong to the woman.

Police spoke to the woman on the phone, but she denied anything had happened. Officers went to the woman's Folsom home for a welfare check, but no one answered the door.

Later Sunday, the Folsom Police Department received a call from the woman saying she was a victim of domestic violence and had been forced into a vehicle the night before by her boyfriend.

Officers found the vehicle at the Westfield Galleria mall in Roseville and found the man inside the mall. He was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and domestic violence.
