Man arrested after violent Cape crash wanted for stabbing 4 girls in Braintree and 2 others in Plymouth – Boston 25 News

BRAINTREE, Mass. — The man arrested after leading police on a chase in Cape Cod was wanted for allegedly stabbing four young girls at a McDonald's in Braintree and two others Saturday at a McDonald's in Plymouth.

Around 6 p.m., a man entered AMC Braintree 10, walked past the ticket window and entered one of the theaters, Braintree police said. Inside the auditorium, “without saying anything and without warning,” he stabbed and attacked four girls aged 9 to 17, according to police.

After the attack, the suspect ran from the theater and fled in a black SUV, police said.

First responders arrived on scene and transported the four girls to a Boston hospital to be treated for their non-life-threatening injuries.

“They looked like they were watching a horror movie and not a children's movie,” said Mateo Rojas, a movie buff. “They said one of the girls screamed for help, I got stabbed and the kids came out looking really shocked.”

Braintree Police patrol officers and detectives quickly reviewed video footage and were able to determine that the suspect and the black SUV were no longer in the area. Police were able to recover the suspect's license plate and other law enforcement was notified.

Braintree police said a vehicle matching the description was believed to have been involved in a similar assault in Plymouth. Massachusetts State Police said they responded to the Route 3 Park and Ride McDonald's shortly after 7 p.m. after a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were stabbed. Both were transported to local hospitals to be treated for their non-life-threatening injuries.

After the reported incident in Plymouth, Massachusetts State Police then began pursuing the vehicle before it crashed in Sandwich.

Photos shared with Boston 25 News showed the suspected SUV blackened and charred on Cotuit Road in Sandwich after catching fire following the crash.

The driver was taken into custody after the accident.

Braintree Police said more information would be released at a later date.

State police say an investigation is active and ongoing.
