Man arrested after stabbing in South Lake Tahoe | News

A man has been arrested and another person is in the hospital after a reported stabbing occurred in South Lake Tahoe.

South Lake Tahoe Police were called to reports of a stabbing around 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, June 1.

The victim was hospitalized with several stab wounds.

Police said they identified the suspect as David Valenzuela, 43, of South Lake Tahoe.

They say they went to his house and tried to negotiate with him, but he refused to go to police.

Police called SWAT and crisis negotiators, and tear gas was used to force him out.

Valenzuela was booked into the El Dorado Jail and faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon and resisting a law enforcement officer.

He is being held without bail.
