Man arrested after shooting wife in Waterbury: PD

The man's wife was found by officers and taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.

WATERBURY, Conn. — A man was arrested Monday in Waterbury after police said they determined he shot his wife.

According to the Waterbury Police Department, Jonathan McMillan, 41, is charged with first-degree assault, criminal use of a firearm, unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal second degree public order, criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, carrying a pistol without a license, illegal transfer/sale of a firearm, tampering with physical evidence and reckless endangerment.

Police said they arrived on Perkins Avenue at 12:11 a.m. Monday after receiving a report of shots fired.

Investigators at the scene learned that McMillan shot his wife while the two men were having a “domestic disturbance,” according to police.

McMillan's wife was found by officers and taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.

McMillan was being held on $1 million bail and was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
