Man arrested after shooting, robbery in Wendell, warrants say

WENDELL, N.C. (WNCN) — A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting in Wendell on May 24, according to arrest warrants.

On May 24 around 2:50 a.m., Wake County Sheriff's deputies responded to WakeMed for a man who had been shot.

Investigators determined the shooting happened in the 6800 block of Family Manor Lane in Wendell. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

An arrest warrant was issued for Alton Ray Duncan, 45, on May 28. According to the arrest warrant, Duncan is accused of robbing the victim with a dangerous weapon.

The warrant says Duncan took $700 in cash and a cell phone worth $800 from the victim. The arrest warrant also says he conspired with Era Lee Horton to commit a robbery with a dangerous weapon against the victim, who was shot during the robbery.

On Wednesday, Duncan was charged with criminal conspiracy, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury.

He was transported to the Wake County Detention Center and given no bond. Duncan will appear in court on Thursday.
