TEXARKANA, Ark. (KTAL/KSHV) – Police arrested a man Saturday suspected in a shooting at a Texarkana nightclub the day before.

Authorities said they responded to the call of a shooting in Whiskey River Country on E. 49th St. around 11 p.m. Friday. Witnesses told police that a man, later identified as Sean Barrett, attempted to enter the bar but was refused entry by security personnel.

Security personnel reportedly escorted Barrett to the parking lot. Barrett entered his GMC pickup truck and allegedly headed toward the entrance of the bar, where the victim and security members were located.

Witnesses told police that Barrett fired a single shot from his vehicle, which struck a man in the foot. He then fled at high speed.

The man was quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injury, which authorities said was not life-threatening.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Texarkana, Arkansas Police Department obtained probable cause to issue an arrest warrant for Barrett.

On Saturday, around 10:30 a.m., Barrett reportedly went to TAPD. Officers arrested him and took him to the Miller County Detention Center. He faces charges of first-degree battery and unlawful discharge of a firearm from a vehicle.
