Man arrested after police chase – KBSI Fox 23 Cape Girardeau News

CARLISLE COUNTY, KY (KBSI) — A man was arrested after a car chase and charged with fleeing or eluding police.

On June 15, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Carlisle County Sheriff's Office received a request for assistance from the Ballard County Sheriff's Office regarding a vehicle pursuit on eastbound Kentucky 286. It was a silver Dodge Charger with Illinois license plates.

The Ballard County Sheriff's Office said the car was traveling more than 100 miles per hour. As the pursuit entered the community of Gage, the car turned around and headed west on KY 286. The Ballard County Sheriff's Office attempted to deploy spike strips on the road, but the car swerved and nearly hit a nearby sergeant. Police said the tires hit the studs and the car then broke down.

Deputies then saw someone – later identified as Terrell Jones – get out of the car and run away. Deputies from Ballad, Carlisle and McCracken counties canvassed the area looking for Jones. It wasn't until 4 a.m. that a drone was able to locate a heat signature in a nearby cornfield and law enforcement was able to apprehend him.

Jones was charged with speeding, fleeing or eluding police, wanton endangerment, resisting arrest and numerous other traffic-related offenses.
